sheridan joyce

Sheridan Joyce is the sustainable fashion designer behind SKYLARK, based locally in Perth. From a young age she was interested in fashion illustration and  sewing which led her to study fashion design at Curtin University. This was where she developed an interest in sustainable design practises and traditional hand crafting techniques. After completing her Bachelor's degree Sheridan then continued to research sustainability in an honours project that integrated modern fashion technology and traditional crafting to optimise the sustainability of fashion design. She represented Australia in the 2015 Frankfurt Style Awards in Germany as a part of her honours project. 
 
After developing an interest in textile design and zero-waste prototyping and design development throughout her research SKYLARK was born. This became the face of her vision of conscious design. For the passed four years SKYLARK's collections have been featured at various local and national and international events, such as Eco Fashion Week Australia. Conceptually collections have been inspired by the designer's Norwegian heritage as well as a connection to nature.
 
At the current time Sheridan is taking the opportunity to refresh the brand and develop a new aesthetic that still has core sustainable values but a modern connection to Nordic culture.
